With the Phillies demise, I am attaching myself to the Brewers bandwagon (although I've been told I'm not allowed to ride the wagon, just to follow on behind it.)

They still haven't told me which one I'll be wearing…

@TRayB that was a helluva game 1. That home field advantage rule though…🤔🤨.
Does anyone think MLB will be looking into this particular situation for a possible new rule review for the future. Or do you think it stays?

I went to bed before that happened, but, I see no reason to change the rule, or even look into it. It's not a home field advantage rule. Each field has (or can have) ground rules for that field. I assume the roof over fair territory has been in play since the field was opened, and it can affect either team at any time. Just because it happened late in a close playoff game is no reason to change it.

Oh I get that and completely understand. I’m wondering if mlb might look into this and other situations or conditions that affect the potential outcome of a game. I’m not but hurt by the rule, I dealt with it all the way through college. Every field has its home field advantage and disadvantages.
I guess more specifically, I’m interested in the possibility of how far MLB could or will expand its play review process. Especially, when a standing rule has never been encountered in the history of the specific playing field.I’m not sure I’m framing my question clearly or correctly to make my point.

We snuck that into the home field ground rules immediately after the play. <wink>
Another option would be to call a ball hit into the roof structure a dead ball.
I suppose the Padres would've been happier when finding out it was an out if they'd known about the rule ahead of time.
