Celebrating the start of Fall with KBV Mountains of Madness in one of my Peterson XL-315 pipes with the Diet Dr. Pepper tenon extension/condenser stem. It's been quite a while since I've smoked this latakia heavy blend, but I'm enjoying it in the cool morning air while I water the garden with Gigi the Hellmutt. It's supposed to hit 85 F today, though.

I had the McClelland Syrian Super Balkan yesterday in my older calabash. When I went to clean the bowl out after smoking, the bottom fell out of the bowl.
Very disappointing.
So, anyway, I wanted to compare the C & D Super Balkan, new to me, hoping that they would be the same, or at least similar.
They are not.
But, the C & D is quite good, in its own way.
Carry on.

If the bottom of the bowl is in one piece maybe it can be cemented back on with the heat tolerant gasket cement used on wood stoves.

I briefly considered something like that, I probably still have some of that cement from when I used a wood stove, but what kind of fumes might that produce? Also, the gourd was already cracked and held together with electrician's tape. It had a good run, it was time to let it go. Were I to hang on to the pipe it would have become an impending project that would probably never come to be. So it goes.
