You might want to try out John Cotton’s double pressed burley. But it’s a crumble cake

Ordered a tin of the burley and one of the Virginia. That **** ain't cheap! Lol.

Bought a bunch of different ones off of cbid once for $3-$4 a tin

ForMud · January 13

Anything with a flavoring in it. Any of the navies, vanilla, etc.

ShawnOL · January 13

Having some Pedersen University Flake from @Rdp77 in the Nording. Since I've been smoking less of the super sweet aromatics I can appreciate the different blends folks have sent me a lot more. I'm liking this more than when I first tried it. Thanks, Rusty.

Didn’t want to make a new thread, but anyone have good recommendations on aromatic pipe tobaccos? I love vanilla, and haven’t seemed to find one that’s stood out to me. I’ve tried some stuff from The Country Squire, and other local tobacco shops, but just nothing that’s knocked my socks off yet.

Yakster · January 14

Samuel Gawith 1792 flake is STRONG and strongly flavored with tonquin which is someone like vanilla. It will ghost a pipe. You might like it, I myself have been mostly disappointed by the vanilla blends that I've tried.

I could send you a sample if you haven't tried it.

ShawnOL · January 14

Also, flavoring pipe tobacco is fairly easy. In a small spray bottle mix 1pt pure vanilla extract to 1pt everclear 195 proof alcohol. Spread out whatever tobacco you want to use and spritz it down with the solution. Stir up the tobacco and repeat. Let the alcohol evaporate off and you're good to go. I did it with my concoction and it was not damp or gooey.

PM your address to me, Seth. I have plenty of aromatics.

That sounds like a fun experiment. Do you have any base tobaccos you recommend trying it with?

I’m not an aromatic guy but try Wilke and Ravenswood. If you’re interested trying something different than aromatic I’d be happy to share with you some samples.

Red virginia and white burley. Maybe a little Cavendish.
